How Our Process Works

Our process begins when we set up an exploratory meeting. In advance of the meeting, we send you a questionnaire to gather basic information about your web project.  (Click to see the Website Questionnaire. )

• Launching Your Website:

  
  Upon your final approval, we move your website over either to our own live servers (if we are hosting your website) or coordinate with your hosting service to move the site over to their servers, making sure all the details have been handled correctly. Finally, we will launch your site and do a run through to make sure everything is working as it should.

• Exploratory Meeting:

  
  The purpose of this meeting is to meet you--either in person or via conference call. We want to hear from you--what you are looking for in a website, what you're about, and questions you might have about us and the KNOWare™ CMS.

• Final Review:

  
  When you are ready to launch your website, you let us know and we will do a final review along with you to address any oustanding issues.

• Design Stage (Optional):

  
  If you choose to have our staff design your website, this stage starts with a conversation between the designer, the project manager, and you to go over the design information you provided in the questionnaire. We have found the best way for potential clients to tell us what they want is to find sites they like and explain why they like them (e.g., I like this site because the navigation is elegant and easy to use).
  
  From here, our designer will put together 2-3 home page design samples or 'comps' for you to review in an effort to zero in on exactly what you want. When you have approved a home page design, we will put together internal page design samples for your review and feedback.

• Building Your Test Site:

  
  Once we have received your approval for all of your website's designs, we 'build out' your website in the KNOWare™ CMS using those designs. This site resides on our staging servers where you can learn to use the CMS and create your content. When your website is ready to go live, we will move it to live servers--ours or yours.

• Training/Content Development:

  
  While the KNOWare™ CMS is easy to use, it still requires a primer to learn how to use it to your best advantage. Our trainer will either deliver training in person or online to one or more potential users. Following the training, we will set up user accounts for you so that you can go to town creating and/or migrating your website content. If you get stuck, simply contact our trainer for help.
