Design is a process, a collaboration between client and designer. A successful collaboration includes the ability for the client to communicate what they want and the designer to interpret the needs of the client onto a digital canvas.
Our Design Team
The KNOWare™ Design Team is made up of experienced ‘website’ designers who, with many years of experience in design as well as HTML and CSS (cascading style sheets), are true ‘website’ designers. And there is a difference. The difference lies in the ability to produce spectacular designs while negotiating the parameters of the Web.
Our Design Goal
Among our goals is to provide fast loading pages that are compatible with all modern browsers, present a polished look and feel, and maintain user-friendly navigation.
The Process
Broken down into five stages, our process produces quality designs that enhance the delivery of content.
Stage 1: Planning & Analysis
Our website questionnaire is used to gather relevant information for a project. The questionnaire asks the client to analyze other websites as well as their own to create a list of likes and dislikes. This helps the client identify what they want to achieve with their new website design. Using that as a starting point, we provide suggestions on customizations and showcase various features from other sites that can be integrated into their new site.
Stage 2: Branding
Some companies may have well-established branding (logo, theme, and color scheme) that we will implement or we will work with the client to develop a new brand.
Stage 3: Sitemap
In collaboration with the client, a sitemap is created to demonstrate the site information's order of importance.
Stage 4: Mockups
The client is provided with 2-3 designs that integrate branding, theme, and selected colors in keeping with their target audience(s).
Stage 5: Implementation
Templates are produced and integrated into the KNOWare™ CMS from the sitemap using HTML/XHTML and CSS.
