About the Development Team
The KNOWare™ CMS Development Team is comprised of experienced website developers who are focused on making the KNOWare™ CMS as intuitive as possible for users. Our philosophy is that it should be as easy as creating an email or filling out an online form.
In our years of experience, we have encountered many CMS solutions ranging from open source to closed canned packages. Typically, many CMS solutions were not intuitive and in an effort to account for all user scenarios, they were difficult to navigate and understand. This inspired the KNOWare™ team to develop a CMS that allows you to have 'your site, your way' without sacrificing usability.
The Modularity of KNOWare™
The KNOWare™ CMS lets you manage your website content without any additional software or specialized training and consists of a set of customizable web tools built as independent modules. This modularity means you can:
- Edit documents, photographs, video, text and all other content on your website.
- Ensure that your design “theme” of colors, page layouts, fonts, and image styling remains consistent throughout the entire website.
- Create a customized interface for managing your site that only includes the tools your organization needs, built to your specifications.
All KNOWare™ modules consist of data elements such as titles, descriptions, images, sort order, and so on. These elements contain the content and instructions that are stored for repeated use. For example, an Announcement module may have data elements that consist of a title, a description, sort order, and an element that determines whether or not an announcement should be included on the home page.
Custom Development - Level I and Level II
With Level 1 Customization, we can add and remove data elements that better suit a client's needs and workflow. An example might be that a client wants to associate an image with each announcement but does want a title. This type of change can be addressed via Level 1 Customization that is part of our standard business practice of 'your site, your way'.
And while we offer a wide range of available modules, a client may have a need for functionality that resides outside of our standard modules and data elements. Examples may include a custom storefront with e-commerce capabilities, or possibly the need for a Intranet for employees to login to a custom dashboard secure from the public. These types of changes fall under the Level II Customization heading which is priced separately based on specifications put together with the client by our Development Team.
In all cases, the Development Team works closely with our clients to produce a CMS experience that is characterized by efficiency and ease-of-use.
